A personal finance app built for how India actually pays
Indian households do not live on one salary account. A month typically spans UPI from two or three apps, a primary savings bank, a credit card, and often a joint account with a spouse or parent. Glass Money is built for that reality: put supported bank, UPI, and card activity in one place, with categories you can edit and monthly trends you can trust.
Tracking starts from the transaction alert emails banks and card issuers already send — not from SMS scraping, and not from sharing a bank password. Broader coverage than Account Aggregator is proof of that approach, not the headline. The product promise is simpler: a better personal finance app for India. Prefer no SMS permission at all? Read expense tracker without SMS permission.
Why many trackers fall short for Indian households
Account Aggregator is powerful where an institution is listed and consent succeeds — but it does not cover every bank, card, or account type people actually use. Joint accounts are a common blind spot: the household spends from them every week, yet many tools either skip them or treat them as someone else's problem.
Those holes are why Glass Money starts with alert emails. If your bank emails a debit for UPI, a card purchase, or a joint-account transfer, that alert can become a categorized transaction — including issuers and account shapes AA workflows often miss. Coverage still depends on what your issuers email and which formats Glass Money recognises; missing activity can be added manually after you check your own bank records.
What's live today
- Auto tracking from bank, UPI, and card alert emails
- Banks and cards Account Aggregator does not list — when they send supported alerts
- Joint accounts you are authorized to include in your own view
- Editable categories, including your own labels and bulk recategorisation
- Monthly spend trends and per-account breakdowns
- Manual entries when an alert never arrived
Statements are downloaded and reconciled against alert emails where that workflow applies — Glass Money does not ask you to upload statement PDFs as the product path.
What's upcoming
- Any email inbox (not tied to one provider)

Upcoming work is labeled as upcoming. It is not presented as shipped, and it is not framed as a gap in what you can already do today.
Trust model: alerts you already receive, read-only
You sign in with Google and separately grant read-only access to transaction alert mail from known bank and card senders. Glass Money cannot send, delete, or modify mail, cannot move money, and never asks for net-banking passwords, UPI PINs, or card PINs. You can revoke access from your Google account at any time. Details are in the privacy policy.
Glass Money is not a Gmail app. Tracking comes from the alerts banks and card issuers already send to your inbox. Support for any email inbox is upcoming.
Supported issuers
Glass Money reads supported transaction alerts from major Indian banks and cards, including HDFC, ICICI, Axis, SBI, SBI Card, Kotak, IDFC FIRST, Yes Bank, PNB, Bank of Baroda, IndusInd, Amex India, OneCard, HSBC India, and more. See the full coverage notes on supported banks.
FAQ
Is Glass Money a Gmail app?
No. Glass Money is a personal finance app for India. Tracking comes from bank, UPI, and card alert emails your issuers already send. Read-only access to alert mail is how beta imports those alerts today; any email inbox is upcoming.
Do I need Account Aggregator today?
No. Account Aggregator is upcoming. Today's automatic source is supported alert emails — which is also how Glass Money can include banks and joint accounts AA workflows often miss.
Can I upload statement PDFs?
No. Glass Money does not offer statement PDF upload as a product feature. Where statements are part of reconciliation, they are downloaded and matched against alert emails — not uploaded by you as the primary path. If an alert is missing, add the activity manually after checking your own bank records.
Can I include a joint account?
Yes, in your own signed-in view, when you are an account holder or authorized to process that account's activity. A shared family workspace is upcoming and is not available today.
